Connector v5.0.0 is a major update to the software that connects your laboratory instruments to Laboperator. It covers the Connector Box, the Windows Connector and the containerised Connector.

More Reliable Connection
- A Connector now comes back online quickly after Laboperator has been unreachable.
- Device drivers are now downloaded straight from secure cloud storage instead of being passed through the live connection. Installing and updating drivers is faster and no longer gets stuck retrying, especially for large drivers.
- Large measurement files, such as images and instrument reports, are uploaded straight to cloud storage as well.
Works In More Environment
- Connectors on networks that use a company proxy or their own security certificates can now download drivers and stay connected.
- The Windows Connector no longer freezes the computer or restarts in a loop on Windows 11.
- The Connector no longer stops unrelated programs running on the same computer.
- Windows builds are now digitally signed, so your IT team can confirm they come from us.
Easier To Setup And Support
- The Connector now reports its logs and health data to our monitoring system, so problems can be investigated without physical access to the box. Previously these logs were lost whenever a box was switched off.
- A box detects and remembers a change to its enrollment address on its own, and that address is now shown in the device inventory.
Updated and Hardened Platform
- Device drivers now run on a current, supported runtime. Existing drivers continue to work.
- Live streaming of instrument data and video has moved to an up-to-date streaming component, benefiting from GPU hardware acceleration.
- The Connector Box image is built on a newer Raspberry Pi OS and has been hardened further against the CIS security benchmark.
- All known security advisories in the Connector's software dependencies have been resolved.
